Ron Gabelman – Team Manager/Lead MMA Trainer
Ron Gabelman is the Lead Trainer at the Bigshow gym, a pioneer of MMA in Cincinnati, OH. Ron was one of the first Instructors to bring Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to the area after meeting and training with Rickson Gracie. Since this time he has had the opportunity to train with leading BJJ & MMA Instructors like Rickson, Royce, Royler, and Helio Gracie. “I didn’t want to be stuck to one organization who thought their style was the best. I wanted to learn as much as I can from everyone who had something to offer, so I set out to find the most for my students”. Training with the Gracies, Machados and El Quapo himself Bas Rutten, Gabelman headed to LA on many occassions to train and bring back MMA techniques being taught by the best on the west coast. In 2006 he was also one of the first instructors to bring Krav Maga to Cincinnati. “I heard about this aggressive style of Israeli hand to hand combat called Krav Maga and said I got to get some of this.” Krav Maga is a mix of all the fighting arts BJJ, TKD, Muay Thai and Israeli Military Defense training it is the most realistic self defense style out there. Out of 36 Instructors Gabelman was 1 of the 12 instructors to pass the course and receive his Instructor Certification. “It wasn’t like you paid your money and you passed”, said Gabelman. “I paid around $6,000 dollars to take the course which was 12 days of the most intense training and testing I every experienced, I broke my ankle on the first day of training and I wrapped it tight everyday and pushed as hard as I could.
A 5th Degree Black Belt Certified Instructor in Taekwondo. Gabelman left the TKD organization to pursue MMA. In 2006 he decided to focus efforts on the G-Force fight team. Team G-Force soon became one the the top fight teams in Ohio, KY and Indiana known for their aggressive style of training and fighting. Local MMA champions like Roger Bowling, Joe Ammerman, Chris Bennett and Dave Hess and many others were all multiple title holders in all the top MMA organizations while under the G-Force banner. In 2011 he closed the G-Force camp to join forces with Jason Appleton who also trained with the team to start Team BSG and head up the programs at the Big Show Gym.

Mike Felts – Wrestling/Cardio Trainer
Coach Felts is the newest addition to Team BSG coaching staff. Coach Felts has 15 years of coaching experience. Felts started his coaching career as an Assistant Wrestling Coach at New Richmond High School from 1996-1998. Coach Felts continued his coaching career at Turpin High School where he was an Assistant Coach from 1998-2002, coaching 3 State Qualifiers and served as Head Coach from 2003-2005. He is currently on the varsity wrestling staff at Glen Este High School where he as coached 4 State Qualifiers and one 4th place Ohio State placer. As a wrestler, Coach Felts began his wrestling career competing for the New Richmond Lions. During his high school wrestling career with the Lions, Coach Felts was an OHSAA State Qualifier (1995), 3x District Qualifier and earned over 100 career victories. Currently Coach Felts just graduated from Northern Kentucky University where he earned his degree in Art Education, and resides in New Richmond with his wife Danell, daughter Emily, daughter Skyler and son Corbin.
